What are hand poked tattoos?
Hand poked tattoos are tattoos made without a machine. Each dot is made individually & manually by the artist without any electricity.
Do hand poked tattoos hurt less & how long do they last?
In general, hand poked tattoos do hurt less due to the nature in which they are made. They are also far less invasive to the skin meaning they will heal quicker & with more ease than machine tattoos. Tattoos made using this technique will last for the same amount of time as tattoos made with a machine.
How long have you been making hand poked tattoos? Are you licensed?
I started making hand poked tattoos in 2019. I opened my private studio on December 21st, 2020 & have been working there ever since. My private studio is located north of Los Angeles with ample free parking space on the street. I am a certified Body Art Practitioner in the County of Los Angeles. This means that I understand & follow the regulated safety & health precautions ensued by Los Angeles.
How can I book with you?
The "Contact” tab on this website has a form you can fill out to request a tattoo. Available flash pieces and text fonts can be found under the “Available” highlight on my instagram page. I require an $80 non-refundable deposit to secure your appointment date & time. This is the only way to book with me, I will never proactively reach out to you via social media or email.
What are your rates?
For linework flash, my minimum is $150 (covers the first hour) & my hourly rate is $120 (for each additional hour). For realism flash & customs, my minmum is $200 & my hourly rate is on a sliding scale between $60-120 (you choose the hourly rate that best fits your budget). I require an $80 deposit to secure your appointment date & time. The deposit is non-refundable & is deducted from the total cost of the tattoo. Most pieces will range between $200-$1000 depending on size, placement, & level of detail in the piece. If you would like a quote for a particular piece(s), please let me know & I will give you an estimate.
What are your cancellation & rescheduling policies?
If you would like to reschedule, please let me know at least 24 hours before your appointment in order to apply your deposit to the reschedule date. If you do not let me know that you need to reschedule within 24 hours of your appointment, I will require another deposit for the rescheduled date. Please also let me know if you need to cancel within 24 hours of your appointment & do not want to reschedule. Cancellations will not receive their deposits back but are able to rebook with me in the future. No call/no shows will be unable to book with me in the future.
This is my first tattoo, what can I expect?
Congratulations on scheduling your first tattoo appointment! First & foremost, I want to stress the importance of informed consent & boundaries. I will do my best to walk you through the entire process while continuing to check in so that there are no surprises. I also encourage you to ask questions whenever you feel called to do so & to set boundaries accordingly. My goal is to provide a safe space for my clients where art & thoughts are consensually shared. Of course, each tattoo session will be entirely different & unique from the last, which is one of the many reasons that I love this profession. I’m excited to see what ours will hold!
I have solidified my appointment with you! Is there anything I can do to prepare beforehand?
Thank you for booking with me! In the days leading up to your appointment, please make sure to moisturize daily, drink lots of water, & get a good night's sleep. On the day of your appointment, please eat beforehand & make sure you are properly hydrated; I also recommend bringing water & maybe even a light snack just in case! Make sure to wear something comfy that will also allow access to the area we are tattooing. See you soon!
COVID-19 response?
I am fully vaccinated & boosted against the COVID-19 virus. If you would like to have a fully-masked session or have ny other accommodation requests, please ask!
Tattoos for BIPOC?
As a white tattooer, I am always looking for ways to make my studio space & art accessible to all people who are interested in it. I offer sliding scale prices for BIPOC folks interested in my work. Sliding scale means that you pay what you want within the sliding scale range that I quote for a specific piece! Please leave a note that you are interested in sliding scale when booking & I will accommodate accordingly. Additionally, I am always open to constructive criticism on how I can make my space more accessible. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please send them my way to [email protected]!
Silent appointments, guest policy, accessibility?
I do offer silent appointments, meaning we do not have to talk besides what is absolutely necessary (like discussing consent & aftercare). This also includes if you would prefer that I don’t play music/if you want to put in earbuds to listen to your own music. If this is something that interests you, please let me know at any point, as I understand that boundaries are always subject to change! I do allow clients to bring one guest during their appointment. Unfortunately, my studio is not wheelchair accessible, as stairs are required for access. If you are unable to use stairs, please let me know & we can discuss the options I offer so you can still get a tattoo! Finally, I love accommodating any & all needs. Please do not hesitate to voice to me any concerns or additional accommodations you may require & I will do my best to meet your needs, no matter how big or small. ☺︎
